dc.description.abstractThe research focused on decent work environment, employee engagement and organizational commitment among traditional employees of Kiruhura district local government. The purpose of the study was examine the relationship between Decent work, employee engagement and Organizational commitment among Kiruhura district local government traditional staff employees. The population of this study comprised of 80 traditional employees between ages 20-60 years. . The study adopted the correlation research design which describes and measures the relationship between two or more variables or sets of scores (Creswell, 2014)The study adopted convenience sampling method which is the type of non-probability sampling method that relies on data collection from population members who are conveniently available to participate in the study. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and analyzed using statistical package for social scientist (SPSS) whereby Pearson r product moment correlation co efficient was used to test the hypotheses. Results of the study revealed that there is a significant relationship between decent work and organizational commitment in Kiruhura District. The conclusions in this work have been drawn basing on study findings and in line with the research hypothesis. There was significant positive relation between decent work and employee engagement among workers of Kiruhura District. Thus, higher levels of decent work among workers are associated with higher level of employee engagement among workers in Kiruhura District.en_US
