dc.description.abstractThis study examined the relationship between depression, self-esteem and academic performance among students at Makerere University. It adopted a correlational research design. A sample of 100 adolescents both boys and girls aged between 20- 28 years were selected by use of simple random sampling technique. Data was collected by use of self-administered questionnaire and was analyzed using the statistical package for social scientists (SPSS, version 21). Spearman Correlation Coefficient (rs) was used to test the significance of the hypotheses. Results revealed that there is no significant relationship between depression and self -esteem, as well as self-esteem and academic performance among students at Makerere University. Additionally results also revealed that there is no significant relationship between depression and academic performance among students at Makerere University.en_US
