The Impact of occupational stress on motivation and performance among employees at Uganda Electoral Commission

The Purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between occupational stress, motivation and job performance. The study was intending to achieve the objectives: To examine the relationship between occupational stress and motivation, to ascertain the relationship between motivation and job performance and to determine the relationship between occupational stress and job performance. The study was using sample of 80 respondents who were adopted using sampling technique and data was collected using self-administered questionnaires and later analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Scientists). The findings showed that occupational stress and motivation are positively and insignificantly related (p=.160 at r=.202). Furthermore the findings show that motivation and job performance are positively and insignificantly related (P=.434, r=.000). However findings show that occupational stress and job performance are not positively and significantly related (P=.133, r=-.235).
