dc.description.abstract | This study examined the relationship between social supports, self-esteem and life satisfaction among youth in peri-urban areas. The study employed a correlational research design that was cross-sectional. A sample of 100 both males and female youth in a peri-urban area was selected using systematic random sampling technique. Data was collected by use of self-administered questionnaires which was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Spearman correlation coefficient (rs) was used to test the significance of the hypotheses. Results revealed that there is a significant relationship between social support self- esteem and life satisfaction among youth in peri urban areas. There is need to increase on the awareness and importance of social support which lead to positive self -esteem among the youth thus increasing their satisfaction with life. ` | en_US |
