dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to examine the relationship between parenting styles, self-esteem and depression among adolescents. The study was conducted at Kololo secondary school located in Kampala district. A correlational study design was used and 100 school going adolescents participated in this study. Data was collected using self-administer questioners and The parenting styles scale, Rosenberg self-esteem scale and Beck’s depression inventory were the main tools in data collection was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Spearman Rank Coefficient (rs) was used to determine the level of significance of the hypotheses. Results indicated that that there was no significant relationship between parenting styles and depression, as well as between parenting styles and self-esteem and depression, and that there was significant relationship between self-esteem and depression among adolescents.en_US
