The research was conducted to find out the relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intentions among the employees in non-government organizations (NGOs), an example of Watoto ministries in down town Kampala, Uganda. Three objectives guided the research; to find out the levels of organizational commitment among employees, to find out the levels of turnover intentions among employees and to find out if organizational commitment influences turnover intentions. A null hypothesis was also set “organizational commitment is not significantly related to turnover intentions” to be proved right or wrong after the results of the study. The population of 100 employees of Watoto and a sample size of 80 respondents were estimated though the researcher was able to sample only 69 respondents using simple random sampling technique. A self-administered questionnaire with closed ended items was issued out to the respondents, data analysis was done using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS), 21version where means, frequencies, percentages and correlation were calculated and the findings were put in a tabular form. Findings revealed that employees at Watoto demonstrated Affective and Normative commitment than continuance and they had low turnover intentions. Correlation analysis revealed a non-significant relationship between organizational commitment and turnover intentions. Discussions of the results, conclusions drawn out of the findings, recommendations for future improvements and problems encountered in the field are all indicated in the last chapter of the study.en_US
