dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to examine the relationship between peer influence, self esteem and depression among urban adolescents. The study was conducted in Kawempe Moslem Secondary School in Kawempe Division. A correlation study design was used and 100 school going adolescents participated in the study and participants were of age 13-18years . The main tools used in the collection of data were Becks depression inventory form depression and Peer Group Influence Assessment Questionnaire (PGIAQ) for peer influence and Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale for self esteem and the data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Pearson Coefficient (rs) was used to determine the level of significance of the hypotheses. Results indicated that there was no significant relationship between peer pressure and depression as well as peer pressure and self esteem and also no significant relationship between self esteem and depression among urban adolescents in secondary schools.en_US
