| dc.description.abstract | The study under the title social support, anxiety to test for HIV and antennal care among Pregnant Women in Kisenyi Hospital was conducted under the objectives; to determine the relationship between social support and attendance to antenatal care by pregnant women, to determine the relationship between anxiety to test for HIV and attendance to antenatal care by pregnant women and to determine the relationship between perceived social support and anxiety to test for HIV among pregnant women. The research selected a population of 80 respondents. using simple random sampling. The study used a cross-sectional approach which was quantitative and descriptive in nature. A correlation design was specifically used to examine if there is a relationship between social support, anxiety to test for HIV and antenatal care among pregnant women. The correlation study design was used to test the strength and direction of relationship between the variables. There results of the study indicated a significant positive relation between social support and attendance to antenatal care, there was also a significant positive relationship between anxiety to test for HIV and attendance to antenatal care and a significant positive relationship between social support and anxiety to test for HIV. The researcher concluded that there is interconnectedness between social support, anxiety to rest for HIV/AIDS and attendance to antenatal care services among pregnant women in Uganda. | en_US |
