dc.description.abstractThe major purpose of the study was to assess the relationship between employee motivation, job performance and turnover intentions among school of psychology lecturers of Makerere University. The specific objectives of the study were to assess the relationship between employee motivation and job performance, the relationship between job performance and employee turnover intentions and the relationship between employee motivation and turnover intentions. The study adopted correlation research design because it is a specific type of non-experimental design used to describe the relationship between or among variables. The correlation research design was used to measure relationship between employee motivation, job performance and turnover intentions among school of psychology lecturers. Data was presented into statistical information using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) to establish whether the variables were correlated. So the researcher observed, revealed and concluded that it is important to note that, the study revealed that there was a significant relationship between employee motivation and job performance, the relationship between job performance and employee turnover intentions and the study also revealed the significant relationship between employee motivation and turnover intentions. The study recommended that there is organizations should ensure employees are motivated at work in order to be satisfied with their job. Therefore job performance can be evaluated as good or bad if the standards of the performance have been agreed upon by the employee and management this can be done to facilitate in creating suitable balance between work and family life and help in growing productivity, less absenteeism of employee hence leading to employee satisfaction thereby increasing on the performance of employees.en_US
