Social support, self-esteem and physical neglect among adolescents
Abstract
This study examined the relationship between social support physical neglect and self-esteem among adolescents. The study employed correctional research design that was cross-sectional. A sample of 100 adolescents both male and female youth in Uganda were selected using systematic random sampling technique data was collected by use of self-administered questionnaires which was analyzed. Using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient (r) was used to test the significance of the hypotheses. Results revealed that there is a significant relationship between social support physical neglect and self-esteem among adolescents. There is need to increase awareness and importance of social support which lead to positive self-esteem among adolescents.
