dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship among Employee Assistance Programme, Occupational Stress and Job Performance among employees in Uganda Prisons Services. The study set out different objectives which included establishing the relationship between employee assistance program and occupational stress, establishing the relationship between occupational stress and job performance and establishing the relationship between employee assistance program and job performance. The study employed a quantitative approach, correlational in nature on a population of 150 employees at all levels of the organizational hierarchy and a sample size of 108 respondents was selected using random sampling and three standardized questionnaires were used. Data analysis was done using the statistical package for social sciences using the different units of analysis. The data was summarized into frequency percentages tables for demographic data section and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypothesis. The study adopted the regression analysis as the study was basically two tailed study. Results of the study indicate that Employee Assistance Programme and Occupational Stress are significantly related. There is no significant relationship between Occupational Stress and Job Performance and also there is no significant relationship between Employee Assistance Programme and Job Performance. The study indicates the link between three variables of employee assistance programme, occupational stress and job performance among employees in Uganda Prisons Services. Findings show that Employee Assistance Programme is more efficient variable, which means that Occupational Stress can be reduced using EAP programs. Recommendations to the relevant bodies and future researchers are stated as well.en_US
