dc.description.abstract | The study sought to investigate the relationship between emotional exhaustion, job satisfaction, and job performance among employees of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). A quantitave study that adopted a correlational study design was carried out. Data was collected using questionnaires administered to employees. A sample of 100 respondents participated in the study and these were selected using the simple random sampling technique. Data was analyzed using the Statistical l Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) where Pearson Product Moment and Correlation coefficients was used to test the study hypotheses.
The study found out that there was a negative non-significant relationship between emotional exhaustion and job satisfaction at r= -.021, P>0.05. The study found out that there is a positive relationship between job satisfaction and job performance at r= .563**, P<0.01. Furthermore, the study found out that there is a positive relationship between emotional exhaustion and job performance at r= .347**, P<0.01. This implies that organizations need to develop employee strategies that ensure high job satisfaction to increase on organizational performance amongst its employees. This in the long run yields passion, commitment and willingness amongst their employees to invest themselves and expand their discretionary effort to help the organizations succeed. It is therefore recommended that Human Resource management professionals in various organizations should strive and ensure that employees achieve their maximum levels of compensation and job satisfaction. | en_US |
