Employee assistance programs, motivation (intrinsic) and engagement
Abstract
This study aimed at investigating if there is a relationship between Employee Assistance Programmes, Motivation (Intrinsic) and Engagement among employees of Kiruhura District Local Government. A cross-sectional survey design was adopted for this study. Convenience sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 80 respondents from a population of 100 employees both male and female. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered questionnaires and through entering fully filled questionnaires into computer software program called Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23, data was analysed. The main findings from Pearson correlation (r) analysis revealed that there was a statistically positive significant relationship between Employee Assistance Programmes and Motivation, there is a positive significant relationship between Motivation and Engagement of employees and that there is a significant relationship between Employee Assistance Programmes and Engagement. Thus, management should ensure educating and training employees regarding the best Employee Assistance Programmes practices
