Employee assistance programs, psychological well-being and creativity among employees
Abstract
The study sought to investigate the relationship between , psychological wellbeing and creativity among employees at Kibuli Muslim Hospital. A quantitative study that adopted a correlation study design was carried out. Data was collected using questionnaires administered to employee. A sample of 100 respondents participated in the study and these were selected using a convenience non-random sampling technique. Data was analyzed using the statistical package for social scientists (SPSS) where Pearson Product Moment and correlation coefficients was used to test the study hypotheses.
The study found out that there was a positive significant relationship between employee assistance programs and psychological wellbeing and creativity.
This implies that organizations need to facilitate employee assistance programs and strategies to improve and maintain employee psychological wellbeing. This induces positive moods, general happiness and reduces stress that leads to concentration and hence creativity and perceived organizational support was reported to increase creativity which gives a firm an added advantage over its competitors. It is therefore recommended that human resource managers ensure strategies that maintain and improve employee wellbeing and also foster creativity.
