dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of the study was to examine relationship between social demographic factors and health locus of control. The objective of the study was to assess the relationship between social demographic factors and health locus of control to assess health locus of control of Makerere university administrative staff, to assess socio-demographic characteristics and health locus of control of Makerere University Administrative Staff. The study adopted a correlational survey its research design together information for proper analysis and making appropriate inferences, generalisations and conclusions to the population where the sample of 181 of both male and female was used. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data from the respondents and the analysis was done using SPSS. The results from the study revealed that there was a statistically significant relationship between locus of control and health related behaviours. Findings from the study show that there is a negative significant relationship between locus of control and health related behaviours since r-.-811**, P< 0.01. since the P value (000) is smaller in behaviours magnitude than the level of significance 0.01, we accept the hypothesis and conclude that there is a negative significant relationship between locus of control and health related behaviours The study recommends that demographic variables are not significantly related to both informal and external locus of control, therefore there is need for one to understand other factors which contribute to internal and external locus of control besides demographic factors. The study also recommends that human resource management in Makerere university and other organizations should consider the employee attitudes. Organizational or job fit as part of the recruitment and selection process which might contribute to health locus of control.en_US
