dc.description.abstractPurpose of the Study was to explore the relationship between job stress, work engagement and performance among employees of Heritage Village. The study was guided by the following objectives; To examine the relationship between job stress and work engagement. To ascertain the relationship between work engagement and performance and to determine the relationship between job stress and performance. Hypothesis 1 tested the relationship between job stress and work engagement. Findings the table above report that r = .354 and p = .001 (˂ 0.01). Since the p-value is less than the level of significance, we conclude that there is a relationship between job stress and work engagement. Hypothesis 2 tested the relationship between work engagement and work performance. The table above presents that since r = .676 and p = .000 (˂ .001), we conclude by stating that there is a positive and strong relationship between work engagement and work performance. Hypothesis 3 tested the relationship between job stress and work performance. The table above shows that r = .482 and p = .000 since p-value is less than the level of significance, we conclude by stating the there is a relationship between job stress and work performance. In conclusion, job stress among employees has a tremendous effect on employee engagement in organizational activities as it causes low performance and low employee engagement. This leaves the employer with one option which is to establish stress coping strategies and programs within the organization in order to boost employee engagement and performance as a whole. It was recommended that to prevent being too stressed with work and difficult milestones, employees should set clear objectives and work plans, manage their time well and above all have effective communication with their supervisors on work stress related issues.en_US
