| dc.description.abstract | The study aimed at examining the relationship between job security, motivation and job performance among employees at Darling Uganda Limited in Namanve, Mukono district. The study adopted a correlation study design with a population of 64 employees. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 55 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standard questionnaire and entered in the computer for analysis through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 23. Descriptive statistics showed that 52.7% of the respondents were male and 47.3% were female, majority were between 20-30 years (50.9%). Results from Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) further indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between job security and employee motivation, (r=.345*, p=.011), as well as a significant positive relationship between employee motivation and employee performance, (r=.488*, p=.000), and there was no significant relationship between job security and job performance, (r=.896*, p=.018).
Therefore, the present study provides a basis and implications for further investigation on the relationship between employee job security and employee motivation, the administration of Darling Uganda Limited should improve on job security of employees by providing them with appointment letters, as this will increase their motivation and hence improved job performance. | en_US |
