dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between workplace learning, social interaction and employee performance among employees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The objectives of the study were; To examine the relationship between workplace learning and performance. To establish the relationship between social interaction and performance and to examine the relationship between workplace learning and social interaction among employees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The study adopted a correlation design to investigate the relationship that exists between workplace learning, social interaction and employee performance among employees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The first hypothesis stated that there is a significant positive relationship between workplace learning and employee performance. The second hypothesis stated that workplace learning and social interaction are positively related to each other. Results above show that there is a positive significant relationship between work place learning and social interaction since r=.531**, p=.000hence p<0.01. The third hypothesis stated that Social interaction and employee performance are significant and positively related. Results in table 7 above show that there is a significant relationship between social interaction and employee performance since r=.547**, p=.000 hence p<0.01. Therefore, is important to encourage workplace learning and social interaction learning because employees get to learn new skills right at work and put them into practice at the very workplace hence increasing their performance. And so it was recommended that teachers should integrate active learning approaches while teaching students and the ministry should also encourage a social environment.en_US
