| dc.description.abstract | The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between peer pressure, self-esteem and risky sexual behaviour of adolescents in Wakiso District.
The researcher used quantitative approach. An exploratory-descriptive research design was utilised. The population of the study was drawn from adolescent female and male residing in Wakiso district. A simple sampling design was employed in this research project. Data was analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) and frequency tableswere generated for the bio data of the respondents ,Pearson Product moment coefficient will be used to establish the relationship between peer pressure, self-esteem and risky sexual behaviour and lastly to examine the relationship between the variables of the study.
In hypothesis one, the alternative hypothesis is retained and it’s concluded that there is a significant relationship between Self-esteem and Peer pressure among adolescents in Kyambogo College School.In hypothesis two,the alternative hypothesis is retained and it’s concluded that there is a significant relationship between Peer pressure and Risky sexual behaviour among adolescents in Kyambogo College School.In hypothesis three,the alternative hypothesis is retained and it’s concluded that there is a significant relationship between Self-esteem and Risky sexual behaviouramong adolescents in Kyambogo College School.
This study recommends school administration to continue to organize counseling sessions for students to enable them cope and avoid engaging in risky sexual behavior. | en_US |
