Stress, social support, and depression among school going adolescents
Abstract
This study entitled Stress, Social Support, and Depression among school going adolescents where 100 adolescents were selected randomly which was carried out in Caltec Academy
It has been revealed that stress does influence depression which meant that school going adolescents who are highly stressed exhibited high levels of depression as compared to those with low levels of stress. The research has further revealed a close negative link between social support and depression whereby social support which influenced depression among adolescent whereby school going adolescents with high levels of social support exhibited low levels of depression but when the levels of social support were low, the adolescents exhibited high levels of depression. The findings of this study showed that there was indeed no significant relationship between social support and stress this implies that the stress was not in any way influenced by social support.
