Personality, Stress and Employee Performance among Employees of KK Transporters
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between personality, stress and employee performance. Objectives of the study were; To examine the relationship between personality and employee performance. To examine the relationship between stress and employee performance and to examine the relationship between personality and stress. The study employed the quantitative approach research design where a cross-sectional and correlational study design were used. Findings indicate that p= 0.264 and r= -0.126. this means that there is no significant relationship between personality and employee performance among employees of KK transporters. From the results above p=0.011 and r=0.283*. this indicates that there a weak positive significant relationship between personality and stress among employees of KK transporters. From the results above p= 0.789 and r= -.030. this implies that there is no significant relationship between stress and employee performance. In conclusion, after carrying out pearson correlation between personality and stress, the study found a positive significant relationship between personality and stress among employees of KK transporters. This indicates that personality plays a significant role in the levels of stress among employees at KK transporters. It was recommended that KK transporters should introduce personality tests when carrying out recruitments. This will help them hire employees with personalities that are less prone to getting stress. More research should be carried out with a larger sample size on the relationship between personality and employee performance. this will enable the results of the study to be more generalized.
