| dc.description.abstract | The study examined the relationship between social support, self-esteem and stress among adolescents at Emma High School, Kampala district. The study adopted correlational research design. Self-administered questionnaires with standardized research items were used to collect data. A sample of 100 respondents which consists of 59 males and 41 females was selected by use of simple random technique. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 23. Pearson Correlation Coefficient (r) was used to test the significance of the hypothesis. Results indicated that there is a significant relationship between social support and self-esteem among adolescents (r= .396, p=.000<.01), as well as a significant relationship between social support and self-esteem among adolescents (r=.299, p= .002<.01). The results also revealed that here is a significant relationship between self-esteem and substance abuse among adolescents (r=.692, p=.000<.01). | en_US |
