dc.description.abstract | The study examined the relationship between social support, self-esteem and depression among school going adolescents. The study was conducted in Namungoona, Rubaga division in Kampala District. A cross-sectional survey design that was quantitative in nature was adopted. A sample of 100 adolescents both boys and girls aged between 13-20 years was selected by use of simple random sampling technique. Data was collected by use of semi-structured questionnaires and was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v23). Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) was used to test the significance of the hypotheses. Study results revealed that there is no significant relationship between social support and self-esteem, as well as self-esteem and depression among adolescents. However, results revealed that there is a significant relationship between social support and depression among adolescents. | en_US |
