The study aimed at investigating the relationship between Occupational Stress and employee performance among employees of Ugafode Microfinance Limited. The study adopted a correlational research design with a population of 177 employees from different departments. Simple random sampling technique was used to draw a sample of 131 respondents from the population. Data was collected from respondents using self-administered standardized questionnaires and entered in the computer for analysis using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23. Results from Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (r) indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between occupational stress and employee performance; and regression analysis indicated that occupational stress predicts employee performance. Furthermore, the results indicate that there where high levels of occupational stress and employee performance. The study concluded that occupational stress reduces employee performance. Therefore, organisations need to put in place measures that curb occupational stress so as to increase job performance of workers.en_US
